Friends of the Earth Finland works for the creation of a democratic, just and ecologically sustainable society, where there is social, economic, political and intergenerational equality and a locally oriented economy.
They focus their campaigns on the preservation of ecological, cultural and ethnic diversity and protection of the Earth from further destruction. They work in partnership with human and animal rights organisations and other progressive groups.
The power of Friends of the Earth Finland stems from broadminded thinking and a vast diversity of people around Finland. Activities vary from national to regional and from global to everyday issues of sustainable living. Local action relies on the activity of creative individuals and national campaigns are planned in annual meetings. The number of members and sub-organisations is continually growing.
Friends of the Earth Finland is both politically and religiously impartial. They work closely with other progressive organisations, such as the Finnish Society for Nature Conservation and the Service Centre for Development Cooperation.
